Municipal Hospitality is led by Christopher Gilbert, a local government practitioner with more than 25 years of experience serving communities from the inside. As Township Administrator and Chief Executive Officer for Springfield Township in Hamilton County, Ohio, Chris understands the daily realities local governments face - limited resources, high expectations, difficult conversations, public pressure, and employees who care deeply but are often stretched thin.

Municipal Hospitality wasn’t born out of a strategy session or a professional pivot. It was born from something Chris kept noticing after decades in local government. Local governments were solving problems, processing permits, passing budgets, responding to calls, and getting things done. But something was missing. Residents were sometimes walking away frustrated, not because of the outcome, but because of how it was delivered. Employees were doing their jobs, but not always connecting to the purpose behind the work. That realization became Municipal Hospitality.

It was not born from reinvention. It was born from recognition.

Not by changing what local government does, but by doing it with greater purpose, intentionality, and consistency. Chris’s approach is practical, human, and rooted in the belief that local government is not just in the business of providing services. It is in the business of shaping how people experience the place they call home.
